The Institute of Materials Science and Technology (IMST, Prof. Stampfl) is responsible for the coordination of the project, the scientific management (T. Koch), materials testing and development of DLP-based systems. The institute currently has 60 employees, and is involved in research projects covering the full range of engineering materials, from metals over polymers and composites to ceramic materials. IMST is fully equipped with lithography-based AMT processes (stereolithography, DLP, 2PP, Polyjet) and has all required methods for the mechanical characterization of materials.
The Institute of Applied Synthetic Chemistry (IAS, Prof. Liska) will develop photopolymerizable resins for lithography-based AMT. Currently running projects in this field include development of photopolymerizable biomaterials, development and characterization of 2PP photoinitiators and development of materials for optical waveguides. IAS has currently 100 employees.
The Institute of Management Science / Department for Industrial Engineering and System Design (IMW, W. Mayrhofer) can offer expertise in the main areas Production Management, Logistics, and Quality-, Process- and Product Management. Its strong theoretical foundation is complemented by a host of applied and practical projects. Their work in the project will be focused on the supply chain management of AMT processes.

In Hannover, the LZH cooperates closely with the Leibniz University of Hannover. With the aim to further promote and strengthen the cooperation with partners in Lower Saxony, the LZH concluded cooperation contracts with the Technical Universities of Brunswick and Clausthal in 2009. The LZH is thus connected to the Technical University of Lower Saxony, which is the alliance of the three technically-oriented universities in Lower Saxony.
